Scott W. Hershey has been making and repairing hand-crafted, stringed instruments for over 25 years. His making techniques utilize both modern and traditional methods. Hershey is also the proud recipient of the coveted "Silver Metal Award for Violin Tone" issued by the Violin Society of America and has made over 120 stringed instruments to date. Hershey's "signature" spirit varnish techniques, taught to Hershey in Bubenreuth Germany by Master Maker, Gottfried Raabs, is a multi-layered, brush applied and hand polished varnish.
